Real bitcoiners will fight against protocol capture to keep bitcoin as a money-only protocol. The growing support for BIP-110 by pleb node runners is real time proof of this. In that same manner, biblical prophecy reminds us to be on-guard so that no one deceives us. Therefore, shouldn't we all defend the base layer of our faith, our laws, and our culture with the same or greater resolve than bitcoin BIP-110 advocates? Freedom demands vigilance. Let no one mislead you. Protocol capture isn’t just coming for your money.
Real Bitcoiners understand protocol capture. You know that if you don’t defend the base layer, someone will eventually smuggle in new rules through the social layer to hijack the network. As Christians, we have a similar duty. We are called to be Watchmen and Women on the Wall and to observe the shifts in our civilizational consensus rules before they become irreversible.
When it comes to End Times biblical prophecy, it isn't about ethnicity or individual people. Many Muslims are our neighbors who we are called to love. The ideology of Sharia-supremacy and political Islamism is what we must be on the lookout for and resist. There is a major difference between Islam as a private faith and Islamism as a state project. The goal of Islamism is the implementation of Sharia: a total legal, political, and social system designed to replace secular democracy.
In bitcoin terms it’s an attempt to overwrite the base layer of Western law with a completely different set of consensus rules.
If you want to see a primary-source example of Islamist Sharia supremacy in plain words, read the 1988 Hamas Covenant. It’s a Sunni, Muslim Brotherhood-linked manifesto. Article 1 states their program is Islam, not just as faith, but as the total authority for life and government. Article 7 includes an end-times hadith describing a future confrontation between Muslims and Jews. Article 13 explicitly rejects negotiated peace and says there is no solution except jihad. In the framework of Sharia-supremacy, truces and agreements are often seen as temporary steps rather than final settlements.
In reality, we are seeing a multi-pronged strategy from Islamist networks. Some Sunni groups pursue Sharia through social and legal gradualism, while Iran’s revolutionary regime pursues it through state power and nuclear ambition. Their methods differ, but their rejection of secular Western order overlaps.
This is perhaps fore-told in Daniel 7:25, which warns us that the final world ruler will “intend to change times and law” and persecute the saints. I’m not claiming this verse is specifically naming Islam. I’m saying the pattern of replacing God’s order with a counterfeit system is worth watching closely. We are seeing pressures build in real time through mass migration, institutional accommodation, and the use of our own legal systems against us.
Bitcoin node runners are the ones who protect the protocol because they know the truth is fragile. As Christian Watchmen and Watch-women we must do the same for the truth of the Gospel and the freedom of our society. Being an active Watchman on the Wall isn't about being paranoid or hateful; it's about clarity, courage, and love for the truth.
As in the days of Noah and the flood, the Sharia-supremacy ideology is advancing through gradualism, indifference and complacency. God gives us the choice between “good” and “evil,” hoping that we will always choose that which is “good.”
I encourage you to always protect the base layer of your faith and your community. And remember: while we watch the world through a spiritual lens, our ultimate hope isn't in a political system, but in the return of the King of Kings, Jesus Christ.
